Buy AWS Account With High vCPU Limits

Every new AWS account starts with conservative vCPU limits — typically 32 vCPUs for standard instance families in any given region. This default is designed to prevent misuse on new accounts, but it becomes an immediate bottleneck for teams that need to run serious compute workloads. A single c5.18xlarge instance requires 72 vCPUs, exceeding the default limit before you even launch a second instance.

The official path to higher vCPU limits is submitting a quota increase request through the AWS Service Quotas console. You specify the desired limit, provide a business justification, and wait for AWS Support to review and approve. This process typically takes 1–7 business days for reasonable requests. For very high limits (256+ vCPUs), multiple rounds of back-and-forth with AWS Support can extend the timeline to two weeks or more, and approval is not guaranteed for new accounts with no usage history.
